The Public Prosecution Service urges travelers to pay outstanding fines.
ORANJESTAD - As the vacation season approaches, the Public Prosecution Service reminds travelers that outstanding fines must be paid on time.
Individuals with unpaid fines may be detained at the border until they have made full payment.
When you go through border control at the airport, the officer will see on the screen that there is a notification next to your name indicating that you still have outstanding fines. You will then be stopped and will only be able to continue your journey after you have paid your fine. This can result in you missing your flight, incurring unexpected costs, or putting pressure on your travel budget, with all the associated stress and disappointment.
Travelers are advised to check well before departure whether they have any outstanding fines and to settle them as soon as possible. If you are no longer sure whether you have any outstanding fines, you can send an email to the Public Prosecution Service at info@omaruba.aw with your question. Please include your full name.
You can pay your fines at the counter, and no appointment is necessary. You can walk in on working days from 8:00 to 11:30 in the morning and from 1:00 to 3:30 in the afternoon, with the exception of Friday, when the counter is only open in the morning. Payment can be made in cash or online to bank account number 4000905 (Aruba Bank).
