The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom has changed its travel advice for Venezuela to code red.

ORANJESTAD—The Aruban government has received notification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands that the travel advisory for Venezuela will change from code orange to code red, effective July 18, 2025.

This change applies to all persons with Dutch passports.

Code red means that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands strongly advises avoiding traveling to Venezuela under any circumstances, without exception. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands indicates that the situation in the country is unstable and can present a serious risk for all foreign visitors, including persons with Dutch nationality.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that during the last time, several incidents have taken place in Venezuela, including the detention without clear reason of foreign citizens. Security is limited, and consular assistance cannot be guaranteed in the event of an incident or emergency. It is also true that most insurance companies do not cover accidents or incidents in the event of a red-hot advisory, which poses an additional risk.

For people who, despite the negative advice, still decide to go to Venezuela, it is recommended to register themselves via the consular service of the Kingdom of the Netherlands via the following link:
