The government has signed an agreement to transfer ownership of the FCCA houses.
ORANJESTAD - In an important meeting called by Prime Minister mr. Mike Eman, together with Minister of Infrastructure Dr. Rene Herdé and the relevant authorities, DLV, DIP, and FCCA, addressed the situation that has been affecting many families in Aruba for some time: the lack of legal transfer of FCCA houses to their legitimate owners.
Many residents have expressed their concern directly to Prime Minister Eman about a situation that they consider unfair. These 99 families paid in full for their houses through lease-to-own agreements but never received the notarial deed that grants them legal ownership rights.
Many were surprised by additional administrative and technical obstacles preventing the final rent payment transfer. One major obstacle is that some land where houses are built lacks official markings to define the exact boundaries of each property.
The government has pursued structural solutions for legal registration and transfer, ensuring security and peace of mind for affected families. During the meeting, an agreement was reached with the stakeholders present that by the end of 2025, all 99 houses will be formally marked and transferred to their respective owners.
