The First Edition of the San Nicolas Food Festival Was Successful
ORANJESTAD – Last Friday, July 3, 2026, Carnaval Village hosted the very first edition of the San Nicolas Food Festival.
The festival drew a large crowd of visitors who enjoyed an evening filled with delicious, diverse, and authentic local cuisine in a wonderful atmosphere. In addition to a wide variety of food and drinks from thirty different vendors, attendees enjoyed a diverse lineup of entertainment. Visitors captured memories in a 360-degree photo booth, watched a master mixologist craft custom cocktails, and caught live soccer matches from around the world on giant screens. Younger guests were also entertained with a mini-soccer field and a Dino Jump bounce house, while DJs and live bands provided the perfect musical backdrop.
To close out the evening in style, several popular local artists—including Lord Lally, Casper, and Master Gusto—took the stage. They delivered a high-energy performance that created an incredible atmosphere, keeping the crowd dancing and celebrating until the very last moment.
The Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs, and Primary Sector, Mr. Geoffrey Wever, expressed his sincere gratitude to all the vendors, volunteers, artists, and visitors who contributed to making this inaugural edition such a triumph:
"Our goal was to create an event where families, friends, and visitors could come together, enjoy our local food, and give San Nicolas a positive boost. The turnout completely exceeded our expectations, and we are absolutely thrilled with the heartwarming response from the community," said Minister Wever.
Economic Boost and Future Outlook
Beyond offering great entertainment, the San Nicolas Food Festival established an important platform for local entrepreneurs and small businesses to showcase their products and connect with new customers. At the same time, the event beautifully strengthened the sense of community within San Nicolas.
Given the resounding success of this first edition, Minister Wever expressed his commitment to further developing this wonderful initiative, with the goal of turning the San Nicolas Food Festival into a recurring staple event that the community can look forward to every year.
