The Dismissal Committee is in recess.

ORANJESTAD - The Director of the Department of Labor and Research seeks advice from an independent committee consisting of employer and employee representatives when processing dismissal applications submitted by employers seeking his approval to terminate the employment relationship with one or more employees. The so-called Dismissal Committee is based on Article 3 of the National Ordinance on the Termination of Employment Contracts, AB 1989 GT 14.

The Director of the Labor and Research Department would like to inform his clientele that the Dismissal Committee will be on recess from December 15, 2025, to January 12, 2026.

The applications under consideration will be handled in accordance with the normal procedure. Should the debate rounds be concluded after December 12, 2025, you should take into account any potential delays in processing the dismissal applications.

Do note that following the debate rounds is the advice and conclusion round. After the advice and conclusion round concludes, all relevant documents will, for the first time, be submitted to the Dismissal Committee for advice in January 2026.
