The Department of Foreign Affairs in Aruba provides information about the visa application procedure for Haitian citizens.
ORANJESTAD—The Department of Foreign Affairs (DBB) informs that it is currently difficult for Haitian citizens to apply for a Caribbean visa to Aruba because the visa office in Haiti is closed.
In addition, the border with the Dominican Republic is closed, while in other nearby countries, most require visas upon entry for Haitian citizens.
Visa applications for the Dutch Caribbean can only be submitted online via www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl. The person needs to note that after submitting his application online, he must go in person to an appointment at a Dutch representation (either embassy or consulate) to complete the visa process.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DBB) in Aruba advise Haitian nationals to consider the following steps when applying for a visa to Aruba. This also applies to individuals currently applying for a residence permit in Aruba and who have already received a VTA (Visitor Travel Authorization) to travel to Aruba for their medical examination.
- If you already have a valid visa either for the Dutch Caribbean, the Schengen territory (Europe), or the United States (United States of America), there is no need to apply again for a visa for Aruba.
- In the absence of a visa, you can find a nearby country that does not require an entry visa for Haitian nationals or that issues a visa on arrival at the airport. It is key for this country to have a diplomatic representation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, either an embassy or a consulate.
- Submit a visa application for Aruba via the website and choose the embassy or consulate where you can reach. The following links offer additional information about visas for the Dutch Caribbean, available in different languages:
