The Chapter of the Civil Orders praises the Decoration Committee Aruba.
ORANJESTAD – On July 3, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes met the Chapter of the Civil Orders, the Dutch Commission coordinating the royal awards.
During this meeting, the Dutch Commission’s President Ank Bijleveld praised the Decoration Committee Aruba for its excellent work. Mrs. Bijleveld mentioned that the Aruban Commission prepares well-founded nominations reflecting their extensive work before submitting them.
Aruba stands out in the Kingdom for the number of submitted nominations. It is a positive fact since it shows many people qualify for a royal award.
The Prime Minister stated that there are some requirements for a citizen to qualify for this recognition. The person volunteers for at least 15 years and performs extraordinary work. The merits in both categories must be of a high level, exceeding what we generally expect from their work, and have an exceptional value to Aruba’s development.
To submit a proposal for the Royal Awards 2025, you must fill out two forms, available during office hours at the front desk of the Administrative Office (Bestuurskantoor) in Oranjestad and San Nicolas and at all MFAs. The person or organization that nominates must fill out the forms in detail and sign them.
You can also download the forms here:

The deadline for submitting nominations for a Royal decoration for 2025 is Wednesday, July 31,
2024, at 4 p.m. After receiving the proposal, the Aruba Decoration Commission will review it to assess if it complies with all the requirements. Subsequently, it will send the nominations to the Netherlands for the final decisions.
“There is still time to submit the proposal. If you know someone who inspires the community and deserves a Royal Award, submit the proposal for this person to receive recognition from King Willem Alexander,” the Prime Minister stated.
