Temporary opening of Guillermo Prospero Trinidad Stadium for football matches.
ORANJESTAD—Minister of Kingdom Relations, Education, Youth, Innovation, and Sports, mr. Gerlien Croes, informed that after several deliberations, she decided to temporarily open Stadion Guillermo Prospero Trinidad, from June 7 to June 21 for the scheduled local and international football matches.
Minister Croes stressed the importance of supporting the local and international competitions that will take place in the coming days to maintain continuity in Aruba's sports calendar. In coordination with the relevant technical teams, the minister assessed that a limited opening is possible during these two weeks.
"This decision reflects our commitment to the athletes and sports community," Minister Croes stated. "We understand that the stadium has great value for our community and symbolizes national pride and a space of competition and unity. While renovation work will continue after June 21, we will enable athletes to continue competing and for the community to enjoy the games.
During this temporary reopening, strict security measures will be in force, and the areas under renovation will remain closed to ensure the safety of all fans and athletes. A request is made to all sports organizations and fans to adhere to the rules in effect during the temporary reopening of the stadium, ensuring the safety of everyone involved.
The temporary opening results from a thorough assessment of the work completed by the companies and all involved stakeholders, as well as close collaboration with sports federations. The renovation works will continue immediately after June 21.
