Symposium Integrity Protocol
ORANJESTAD - July 8, 2025, marked the first day of a significant symposium on the Integrity Protocol, a crucial theme for good, accountable, and transparent governance.
For Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, and Sint Maarten to collaborate and work together with integrity in public office, this initiative required a significant amount of planning time.
Minister of Justice, Integration, and Public Transport, Mr. drs. Arthur Dowers attended an interesting symposium on integrity in government. Dr. Jose Rosales, portfolio holder of Integrity, who partners with Mr. Oene Bouwman, who wrote the manual that serves as the basis for the new protocol, led the symposium.
The symposium began on Tuesday and aims to provide guidelines to all leaders in government agencies on how integrity must be part of all public decisions and actions. The afternoon session focused on the Public Prosecutor’s Office, AG, along with other key agencies.
On Thursday, July 10, and Friday, July 11, other members of the Aruba Police Corps (KPA) and other organizations in the judicial chain will be on hand for more information and guidance. The goal is for all public servants, without exception, to know what is expected of them, where to be accountable, and how to prevent future integrity violations.
The Government of Aruba, in partnership with our sister islands, places integrity at the heart of its operations. Throughout this symposium, it is emphasized that integrity governance is not an option but is the basis for public trust and good governance.
