Subconscious Memories

ORANJESTAD - Mr. Claude Wever presents 33 works in the exhibition space of the National Library of Aruba in Oranjestad.

The public is warmly invited to visit the exhibition throughout June 2026 during the library’s regular opening hours.

The exhibition, titled Subconscious Memories, features paintings that reflect the artist’s memories of places he has visited and experiences he has lived through. These are memories that have lingered deep within his mind for many years, resurfacing from the depths of his subconscious and being brought back to life on canvas.

Claude Wever was born in Seroe Colorado, Aruba, in 1954. In 1970, he moved to the Netherlands, where he first studied Fine Arts & Design and later Dance.

The exhibition will remain on view through the end of June 2026.

“You have seen the image, the place or somewhere very similar in a movie, book, photo or dream long before visiting in person, because creating isn’t just about making something beautiful… it’s about stripping yourself bare without words.” that place. ‘
