Secrets Baby Beach welcomes its first guests.

ORANJESTAD— On June 6, 2025, Ronella Croes, CEO of Aruba Tourism Authority, and several colleagues visited the new Secrets Baby Beach hotel one day after Secrets opened its doors.

During the tour, the hotel general manager, José María Pérez de Ureta, financial director Fernando Vega, and commercial director Ricardo Portillo were in attendance. Ronella Croes, Maas van Drie, Patrick Melchiors, and Gemey Zara were present on behalf of ATA. They received a tour of the rooms, the spa, the fitness room, the various restaurants, and other hotel facilities.

Secrets Baby Beach by Hyatt officially opened on Thursday, June 5. This soft opening allows the hotel to test, improve, and gradually receive more visitors. On the first day, guests occupied 52 rooms; on the second day, 80; on the third day, 90; and after four days, the occupancy exceeded 100, reaching 40% of the total occupancy.

This new partner of Aruba, the principal pillar of our economy, shows its commitment to quality. Grupo Martinon from Spain also has locations in the Dominican Republic and Mexico, and Secrets by Hyatt is their first in Aruba. Secrets by Hyatt is a $160 million project.

The ATA noted the large number of employees from the San Nicolas region. Also noted was the mixed clientele, coming from different countries. Some came as loyal Secrets customers; others were loyal Aruban customers who wanted to stay on the other side of the island. There was much discussion about the need to manage the flow of visitors, emphasizing the investments made in this area (including Baby Beach and Rodger's Beach) and the plans for the future. But he also stressed the importance of preserving the unique character of San Nicolas, with an emphasis on protecting and supporting the Secrets chain. ATA is committed to supporting the San Nicolas region, including the city center.

She remarked that the recently opened hotels, Joia, St. Regis, and Secrets, strengthen Aruba’s position in the luxury traveler segment. There is great interest and demand for these new products.

ATA thanks the management for the reception, congratulates, and wishes the entire team much success!
