Savaneta Seafood Festival takes place on September 27

ORANJESTAD – A new edition of the Savaneta Seafood Festival will take place in Savaneta on September 27, 2026.

Organized in collaboration with Fundacion Savaneta Prome Capital and various public and private partners, the festival has grown into an important platform for promoting Aruba’s local fishing sector, stimulating economic activity, and celebrating the unique identity of Savaneta as the island’s traditional fishing community.

The organizers and participating partners shared their vision for this year’s edition, which will build on the success of previous years. Visitors can look forward to a wide selection of fresh local fish and seafood, creative culinary offerings, cultural entertainment, live music, local crafts, and a variety of activities for the entire family.

The festival represents much more than a recreational event. It serves as a practical tool for strengthening the primary sector, creating economic opportunities for fishermen, merchants, and local entrepreneurs, and highlighting the value and importance of local production in Aruba’s sustainable development.

“The Savaneta Seafood Festival demonstrates how our primary sector can become a significant driver of economic development. By promoting our fishermen, local products, and culture, we are not only generating economic activity, but also preserving an essential part of our identity as a people. This festival is a concrete example of how collaboration between the community, the private sector, and the government can produce positive results for Aruba,” said Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs, and the Primary Sector Geoffrey Wever.

The festival aligns with the government’s priorities to strengthen the primary sector, support local commerce, diversify the economy, and create opportunities for local entrepreneurs and producers.

“Our goal is to continue building on the foundation that has been established over the past several years. Savaneta has all the potential to further solidify its position as Aruba’s fishing capital. An event such as the Savaneta Seafood Festival brings us closer to that goal by creating opportunities for our fishermen, encouraging the consumption of local products, and strengthening the economies of our communities,” Minister Wever added.
