Register now for the 2027 National Exams (Landsexamen)

Who can participate?

Would you still like to earn your MAVO, HAVO, or VWO diploma? The national exam (Landsexamen) offers the opportunity to achieve this in a flexible way. A national exam is equivalent to the final exam of regular secondary education, and a diploma obtained through the national exam holds the exact same value as a regular secondary school diploma.

Individuals who are no longer attending secondary school but wish to earn their diploma, as well as those who want to obtain a certificate for one or more specific subjects, can register to participate.

The national exams use the exact same examination requirements and written central exams as regular education. Those who choose to take part in the national exams do not need to take exams for all subjects at once. You can choose to take exams and earn partial certificates for one or more subjects spread across different school years. Each candidate has a maximum of ten (10) years to earn their full diploma through the national exams.

Please note: This year, the subject history for the HAVO and VWO national exams cannot be provided.

How to register?

To register, fill out the digital registration form on our website at www.ea.aw. You must also upload an extract from the civil registry (cost: Afl. 5.00) that is no more than 6 months old. All necessary information can be found on our website. Everyone is strongly urged to read all the information in the Informatiebrochure Landsexamen 2027 (Information Brochure National Exams 2027) before filling out the online registration form.
