Proyecto AWE Successfully Concludes Its First Professional Pathway
ORANJESTAD — Project AWE has successfully concluded its first professional pathway focused on barbering, with certificate presentations given to 11 young people who completed the practical course.
Under the motto “Learn TODAY, lead tomorrow” (Siña AWE, lidera mañan), the initiative focuses on empowering youth and connecting them with educational opportunities, personal development, and professional preparation. The workshops took place on September 7, 14, 21, and 28, with the participation of young people between the ages of 16 and 35.
During the pathway, participants gained practical knowledge and hands-on experience in barbering. They also received guidance regarding the profession and the various possibilities for entering the labor market or eventually starting their own business. In addition to their certificates, the participants received a starter kit so they can continue practicing and developing the skills they learned.

Project AWE aims to create real opportunities for youth to develop practical skills, enter the job market, start their own business, or continue their studies.
Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor Wendrick Cicilia congratulated all the participants for their dedication and perseverance throughout the pathway. He emphasized that every young person has value and potential, regardless of the obstacles they may have faced in life. He also extended words of thanks to Alcides Marin, owner of STASH, for his willingness to provide the course and share his professional knowledge and experience with the participants.
