Presentation of ‘Kadena di bida’ at the National Library of Aruba
ORANJESTAD – Ms. Richeline C. Joe will present her work, ‘Kadena di bida,’ (Chain of Life) at the National Library of Aruba on Wednesday, August 26.
The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.
‘Kadena di bida’ is a collection of poems and short stories based on events and experiences from everyday life.
So many things have happened, are happening, and will happen throughout our lives. These many events are connected and together form a chain: the chain of our lives.
Every life chain is unique. Work and everything associated with it form an essential part of our life chain. We encounter family, friends, acquaintances, and people who are only temporary passengers in our lives. Each of them has meaning and significance in our lives in their own way.
The events taking place in the world around us, as well as our encounters with nature, are also an essential part of our life chain. The chain of our lives continues to take shape. Every day, we have another opportunity to make our life chain even more beautiful.
Richeline C. Joe (’57) is a psychologist and attorney. She has written several short stories and poems. In ‘Kadena di bida,’ Ms. Joe presents, for the first time, everyday events and experiences that many people will recognize.
Ms. Joe is originally from Curaçao and is in Aruba for this special presentation at the National Library of Aruba.
