Preparations for New Animal Welfare Policy Enter Final Phase

The new policy will focus on promoting responsible pet ownership, preventing animal abandonment, and legally managing and regulating stray animals to create a safer Aruba for both people and animals.

Our Animals Are Suffering Every day, abandoned dogs and cats are seen on the streets, searching for food, shelter, and affection. Many of them live in constant danger, exposed to hunger, disease, traffic accidents, and abuse. This situation not only impacts the well-being of the animals themselves, but also affects public health, safety, and the overall quality of life in our community.

This problem did not happen overnight. It is the direct result of animal abandonment, uncontrolled breeding, and a lack of responsibility among some pet owners.

Informing the Community Step by Step In the coming weeks, the community will be informed step-by-step about the various aspects of the new policy and what it truly means to be a responsible pet owner.

The campaign #No Mas Sufrimento, Mas Doño di Mascota Responsabel (#NoMoreSuffering #MoreResponsiblePetOwners) invites all citizens to be part of the change. Solving this issue relies not only on legislation and government action, but on the commitment and responsibility of every resident of Aruba.
