Podcast series “Cadushi ta zona cu Dyrick” presented by DNM continues

ORANJESTAD – After the school vacation season, the program “Cadushi ta zona cu Dyrick” is back! The Department of Nature and Environment (DNM) continue with this podcast series, which has already been warmly received by the community.

Last week, the episode “Cadushi ta zona cu Dyrick” focused on climate change, a topic that drew much attention during its first season. The podcast aims to educate the people of Aruba about the environment, nature conservation, cultural heritage, health, sustainable development, and the deep connections between them.

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the series released episode 8, featuring guests Rino Hermans, Director of Crisis Management Office (formerly Bureau Rampenbestrijding – BRA), and Rodney Tromp from the Aruba Meteorological Department (METEO). Together, they discussed “What does climate change mean for Aruba?” The conversation highlighted how climate change can rapidly intensify atmospheric disturbances, with Hermans explaining that a storm can now escalate into a Category 5 hurricane in less than 12 hours. Both guests emphasized the importance of preparation and awareness for unexpected disasters.

The series “Cadushi ta zona cu Dyrick” is presented by DNM and hosted by the dynamic Dyrick Wouters. A passionate and curious young Aruban, Dyrick engages his guests in natural, lively conversations about Aruba’s biodiversity, traditions, conservation efforts, and environmental challenges. The program is designed for both adults and children, using interviews and inspiring visuals to explore Aruba’s unique ecosystem.

Through the podcast, listeners learn how to protect Aruba’s flora and fauna, balance development with conservation, maintain a healthy environment for sports, and understand how sustainable tourism supports cultural identity and environmental protection.
