Opportunity to be part of Social Formation: Registration is open at the beginning of August.
ORANJESTAD—SVT is opening registration for the Social Formation group 20 for young people between 17 and 25 years old who need a second chance in their lives.
Parents interested in their child participating in this project can contact Mrs. Jessica Ras at 564-5339 and start the application process. The quotas are limited, and registration will close at the beginning of August 2025. Part of the trajectory includes discipline, structure, working in teams, what it means to exercise/maintain a job, and communication. Participants also learn more about themselves.
The SVT course and training coordinator, Lourenço Teixeira, captain of Arumil, informed us that SVT 20 will start on August 18. Every participant needs to be well-prepared for the sports exam held on August 5. SVT calls on young people who wish to participate in the Social Formation program to get the required information and speak with the program's leaders.
He also reminds us that there is an opportunity to follow the ARUMIL training, which will take place in Curacao and is more focused on becoming a military man. They will spend four months in SVT, which is more akin to a military training phase, experiencing what it's like to be a soldier in the barracks. SVT also includes training in the woods, which is part of the military aspect.
The decision to enroll in SVT is frequently prompted by parental encouragement or by the young person who is not enrolled in school or has not yet made a life decision. For these young people, it will be an incentive to be part of Social Formation (SVT).
It is a path of physical training, with structure, norms, and values to give every young person a better opportunity in life.
