Opening of the Parliamentary Year 2024-2025

This ceremony occurred in the Parliament Hall of Aruba, where H.E. Governor of Aruba, Alfonso Boekhoudt, declared the Parliamentary Year officially open. It marks the 39th Parliamentary Year for the Country of Aruba, and it is a very solemn moment for the most crucial body of the Country of Aruba.

Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes stated that this year's ceremony was different, as the Parliament, after three years, has a new president who will serve for a short period before the upcoming elections in December.

The Parliament of Aruba is where important decisions for our country are taken. It is essential to have synergy between our parliamentarians and ministers while also maintaining oversight of the functioning of the Government.
