On August 23, Baki den Bario takes place in Dakota.
ORANJESTAD—The next edition of Baki den Bario will take place this Saturday, August 23.
Baki den Bario is a project in which the government puts large containers for residential waste in neighborhoods. This event will be held in the Dakota neighborhood. With the support of Serlimar and the Bureau City Inspector, they will help communities properly separate and dispose of their household waste.
It is important to continue with Baki den Bario, given the high costs of disposing of waste on the inhabitants' strength. Not all families have the means to pay for a large bin to clean their yard or house, and they opt to accumulate garbage in the yard until they can afford to dispose of it. The result is that discarded items, such as old mattresses, broken cabinets, refrigerators, stoves, and sofas, accumulate in the yard, attracting various unwanted animals like rats, mice, and insects.
Discipline is with the inhabitants, but they do not always have the means to cover the high costs of commercial waste disposal. Baki den Bario provides families in the neighborhood with the opportunity to sort their household waste early and dispose of it responsibly at the location where large bins are available. This time, government agencies will pass ahead in the neighborhood of Baki den Bario and leave some large bags of sushi behind so that residents who have no way to reach the garbage cans can fill the bags with sushi and put them in front of their yards on Saturday morning for BCI and Serlimar to pick up.
Preparing the field abandoned by Baki den Bario, DOW uses a tractor to clean it. These activities are in line with the Ministry of Sports policy, cleaning several sports fields around Aruba for young people to do sports. The Firefighters Association and Club Douane have announced their intention to use the field. Additionally, schoolteachers who have started a special school have expressed interest in using the field for their special students.
Baki den Bario Dakota will take place this Saturday, August 23, from 7.00 am to 11.00 am on the field behind Respaldo/ex Club Dosva.
It is not allowed to bring asbestos products, nor car oil, or commercial waste.
