Ministry of Education offers various workshops and conferences in September and October via the Learning Cities platform

The activities offered by the Learning Cities platform include:

• Various courses in the field of conscious parenting;
• A session on aligning vocational education with the labor market;
• A conference and training on support for DLD (Developmental Language Disorder);
• A conference and workshops on the didactics of multilingual education.

The goal of these initiatives is to continue investing in the professional development of our teachers and to improve the quality of education in Aruba.

Conscious Parenting: Interactive Workshop

This workshop focuses on adults and social-emotional development. The sessions take place on September 17 and September 23 and are facilitated by the Department of Education Aruba (Directie Onderwijs Aruba) and Fundacion Educador Consciente Aruba. During these gatherings, teachers and parents are equipped with practical strategies to first manage their own emotions so they can better guide children in their social-emotional development. The session on September 17 was specifically for teachers, and the session on September 23 is intended for parents. These sessions are completely free. Alignment of Vocational Education with the Local Labor Market and Internships

This session takes place on October 5. During this meeting, we will discuss and exchange ideas on how to better align education with the needs of our labor market and how to offer students valuable opportunities through internships (core phase). This session focuses on creating greater collaboration and coordination among the institutes that offer vocational education, namely SPO, EPI, EPB, and OABA.

Supportive Training and Conference for DLD (Developmental Language Disorder)

On October 5, there is a professional development conference for teachers focused on recognizing and supporting students with developmental language disorders. On October 6, the National Conference on Developmental Language Disorders will take place, which is open to the general public. This event provides more information, deepens your knowledge, and offers practical tools. This conference is organized by the Foundation for the Hearing Impaired Aruba (FEPOH). We invite all teachers to participate on October 5, and the entire community on October 6. Come exchange experiences with other educational professionals and community members. Conference and Workshop on the Didactics of Multilingual Education

On October 19, there is a conference for primary school teachers (grades 1, 2, and 3) regarding language instruction in a multilingual context. From October 20 to October 22, various workshops will be held to put theory directly into practice. This professional development week offers you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and apply new learning strategies for multilingual education. This conference and training week is organized by the Centro pa Desaroyo Profesional Continuo (CDPC) of IPA and will be led by Prof. Dr. Joana Duarte from the University of Groningen, an expert in the fields of inclusion and multilingual education.
