Minister Dowers Participates in Judicial Four-Country Consultation in Curaçao

During the consultation, the Ministers of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the Netherlands discuss current issues related to justice and security within the Kingdom.

Minister Dowers is participating in the consultation together with Minister Nathalie Tackling of Sint Maarten, Minister Shalten Hato of Curaçao, and Minister David van Weel of the Netherlands.

The Judicial Four-Country Consultation is held twice a year, rotating among the four countries of the Kingdom. The consultation provides an opportunity for the countries to exchange information and experiences and to further strengthen cooperation in the areas of justice and law enforcement.

The meeting addresses a range of topics, including policing, combating crime, cross-border crime, corrections, and the administration of justice. Attention is given both to issues affecting individual countries and to matters of common interest to the Kingdom as a whole.

In addition to the Ministers of Justice, representatives and senior officials from the judiciary of the four countries also meet to discuss legal matters and developments within the justice systems, as well as issues that require a coordinated approach across the Kingdom.

The consultation therefore serves as an important platform for the four countries to continue dialogue, coordination, and cooperation in the areas of justice and security.

For Aruba, Minister Dowers’ participation provides an opportunity to highlight Aruba’s interests and priorities within the Kingdom, exchange experiences with the other countries, and work together to further strengthen cooperation in the field of justice.

The Judicial Four-Country Consultation is organized throughout the year on a rotating basis in Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, and the Netherlands.
