Library San Nicolas - Change of Opening Hours

ORANJESTAD – Starting Tuesday, September 15, 2026, there will be modified opening hours for the library in San Nicolas. The San Nicolas branch is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Last Wednesday, the San Nicolas library received a visit from Minister of Education Gerlien Croes. Following a guided tour, the minister spoke with the children present and the staff and subsequently announced the new opening hours.

The new school year has gotten off to a great start for the San Nicolas library. Grade 6 of Colegio Santa Filomena visited the library and received a tour, an explanation about borrowing books, and insight into the importance of reading. All 21 students became members—a wonderful initiative by their teacher, Ms. Sagine, to bring her class to the library. The San Nicolas library invites all children to the next activity on September 24 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The San Nicolas library provides a quiet space where you can study, read, and look up information Monday through Friday. Residents of San Nicolas and the surrounding area can come here for information, book borrowing, and other library services. The San Nicolas branch features an adult section and a youth section, offering an extensive collection of books in various languages. Additionally, educational activities for children aged 4 to 12 are organized twice a month. Membership for children and young adults is free of charge.

There is also a computer room available. Everyone is welcome to look up information and does not need to be a member to use this service. Visitors can make use of free Wi-Fi, provided by SETAR. All members can borrow e-books and audiobooks.
