Last chance to file the 2023 income tax return.
ORANJESTAD - The Tax Department issued reminder letters regarding the income tax form for 2023.
Taxpayers who have received the 2023 declaration form and have not yet submitted it will receive the mentioned letter via mail in the coming days.
Official Date
The date of the reminder letter is July 10, 2025. Taxpayers who have not yet met their obligation to submit the 2023 income tax return have a limited number of days left to do so. The deadline for filing is July 21, 2025.
If the return is already filed
To taxpayers who have already submitted their 2023 income tax return and received the reminder letter, the Tax Department requests that this letter be disregarded as having not been sent.
Noncompliance
This is a last chance. If you do not submit the 2023 return or submit it late, after July 21, 2025, the inspector will impose a fine when the final collection is issued. The fine is 5% of the tax amount and is a minimum of Afl. 250.00 and a maximum of Afl. 10,000.00. This penalty is not necessary if the taxpayer complies on time. The inspector will also impose a taxing charge on taxpayers who have not submitted the return. This collection is based on a calculation of tax revenue.
It is important to mention that the legal deadline for filing the 2023 income tax return expired on October 9, 2024. Taxpayers who failed to file their 2023 income tax return before the mentioned date received a two-month extension that expired on December 9, 2024.
The Tax Department urges taxpayers who have to submit their income tax return for 2023 to submit it as soon as possible, and no later than July 21, 2025, to avoid costs and undesirable consequences.
