Invitation to the Aruban business sector to expand business opportunities at HUB Cámara Santo Domingo 2026

ORANJESTAD – The Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector invites companies, importers, distributors, and trade representatives of Aruba to participate in HUB Cámara Santo Domingo 2026, taking place on September 9 and 10, 2026, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

HUB Cámara Santo Domingo, known as "The Business Hub of the Region," is one of the most prominent commercial platforms in the area. The event brings together international buyers, producers, exporters, distributors, and companies to establish direct contact, explore commercial opportunities, and build new business relationships.

According to Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector Geoffrey Wever, the participation of Aruban companies aligns directly with efforts to strengthen Aruba's economic position and expand its trade connections across the region.

"As a small and open economy, Aruba must continue to look outwards, create new alliances, and facilitate concrete opportunities for our companies. We cannot depend solely on the same markets and supply chains. We must actively seek alternatives, create links, and build trade relations that strengthen our economy," Minister Wever said.

The Dominican Republic represents a key regional market offering significant possibilities for Aruban businesses seeking competitive products, new suppliers, cost efficiencies, and strategic collaborations. The trade show spans vital sectors including agriculture, agro-industry, general manufacturing, construction, technology, and energy—all essential to strengthening Aruba’s local supply chains.

Participants will engage directly with Dominican counterparts, evaluate products and pricing, and explore commercial agreements through structured B2B (business-to-business) meetings. Selected international buyers can also access a dedicated program offering three-day/two-night hotel accommodations, local transport, a personalized B2B agenda, trade show access, and ongoing support from ProDominicana.

Minister Wever emphasized that the role of the government is to open doors for private sector expansion.

"The government does not conduct business on behalf of the entrepreneur. Our responsibility is to create connections, facilitate access, and pave the way for Aruban entrepreneurs to identify opportunities and take the next step," Wever noted.

The Department of Economic Affairs, Commerce and Industry (DEACI), through Exprodesk, will facilitate the participation of interested Aruban companies by providing guidance, information, and coordination with event organizers.

As part of the preparations, Minister Wever and DEACI invite all interested entrepreneurs, importers, distributors, and commercial representatives to an informative session on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cas Veneranda.

"We want to see more Aruban entrepreneurs crossing borders, establishing contacts, and discovering new markets. Each new business connection represents an opportunity for a company to grow, create economic activity, and ultimately strengthen Aruba. The opportunity is there; now is the time for our private sector to make use of it," Minister Wever added.

HUB Cámara Santo Domingo 2026 is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo alongside ProDominicana. Interested companies are invited to contact Exprodesk through Mr. Giacomo Pais at g.pais@deaci.aw to receive further information and RSVP for the August 12 session.
