Income tax return forms for 2024 are on their way.
ORANJESTAD—In the coming days, customers already registered with the Tax Office (Departamento di Impuesto) will receive a 2024 income tax return form by mail.
Official Date
The official filing date is August 1, 2025. By law, taxpayers have two months to fill out and submit the mentioned form; so the last day to submit it is October 1, 2025.
Deadline extension
In addition to the statutory two-month deadline, the tax office gives an automatic two-month extension. In this case, the latest filing date is December 8, 2025. One does not need to apply for this.
Preparation of documents
The Tax Department recommends its taxpayers start preparing the necessary documents related to income and expenses for 2024, such as annual salary, work pension, old-age pension, widow's or orphan's pension, income from property rent, income from side jobs, letter of interest from banks and other life insurance companies, proof of life insurance, proof of child's school fees, study abroad, etc.
Taxpayers who own their businesses (sole proprietorships) must also prepare their annual report for 2024, and if they cannot do so themselves, they can use an advisor.
Legal obligation
Completing and submitting the form is required by law. Failure to do so risks a levy with a penalty. By filing income tax, taxpayers can exercise their right to deduct certain expenses.
