Inauguration of New Multi-Sports Structures in Aruba Schools: Colegio Santa Filomena and Colegio Frere Bonifacius
ORANJESTAD — Recently, the inauguration of new multi-sports structures took place in two local schools.
Colegio Santa Filomena and Colegio Frere Bonifacius are the first institutions to receive these facilities as part of a wider initiative to strengthen school sports infrastructure and create more opportunities for children to stay active during the school day.
Following Colegio Santa Filomena, Colegio Frere Bonifacius also welcomed its new multi-sport structure. This rollout is only the beginning, as more schools across Aruba will continue to benefit from similar facilities in the future.
With these structures, students have greater access to practice various disciplines, such as football and basketball, within an environment that stimulates movement, cooperation, and physical growth. Sport plays a fundamental role in the integral development of children—contributing to a healthy lifestyle while teaching discipline, perseverance, respect, and teamwork.
"Our children deserve facilities that stimulate them to move, discover their talents, and develop their potential. With these multi-sport structures, we are ensuring that sports become a core part of their daily development," expressed Minister of Education and Sports Gerlien Croes.
At Colegio Frere Bonifacius, the installation of the multi-sports structure marks a particularly positive milestone for the school community, providing an immediate boost to student well-being even as ongoing efforts continue to resolve wider accommodation and housing needs.
The Ministry of Education and Sports reaffirms its commitment to expanding this initiative across Aruba, aiming to foster a lifelong culture of health, sports, and movement from an early age.
"This is only the beginning. We continue working to ensure more schools benefit from this initiative. Each new sports space represents an opportunity for a child to discover their talent, strengthen their confidence, and develop a passion for sport," Minister Croes concluded.
