Graduation ceremony of the Organization, Governance and Management (OGM) and Master's in Governance & Leadership (MGL) programs at the University of Aruba
ORANJESTAD – Recently, the graduation ceremony for the Organization, Governance and Management (OGM) and Master's in Governance & Leadership (MGL) programs took place at the University of Aruba (UA).
Minister of Education, Gerlien Croes, handed over the diplomas and congratulated the graduates on their academic achievements and their commitment to the future of our country.
The Organization, Governance and Management program is a broad, generalist course of study that promotes a multidisciplinary approach and diverse perspectives. OGM graduates are prepared to perform key professional roles in our community, such as policy advisors, organizational advisors, managers, and researchers. Whether working in the public or private sector, graduates are expected to provide advice focused on organizational and social issues, design solutions to existing and emerging problems, and create new possibilities in anticipation of a constantly changing society.
The OGM program covers various areas of study, including the design of an organizational entity, its structure, vision, mission, and decision-making bodies. It also focuses on the processes and interactions through which an organization engages and consults its stakeholders and accounts for its achievements. Management characterizes how decisions are made and executed within an organization, whether in government or a private company. Therefore, management determines how an organization is directed, administered, and controlled.
This year's graduation ceremony marks a very special milestone for the department. During the event, the graduation of the 100th graduate of the Bachelor in Organization, Governance and Management (OGM) program was celebrated. In addition, the minister proudly awarded the first degrees to the graduates of the Master in Governance and Leadership (MGL) program.
During the ceremony, Minister Croes highlighted the importance of having professionals trained in these disciplines to strengthen strategic management in both the public and private sectors in Aruba. The Minister wished the graduates great success in their professional careers and in their ongoing contributions to the sustainable development of our country.
