Governor Receives Executive Acting Commissioner of US Custom Boarder Protection (CBP) and Acting Commissioner of CBP
ORANJESTAD – The Governor of Aruba, His Excellency Alfonso Boekhoudt, received Ms. Diane Sabattino, Executive Acting Commissioner of US Custom Boarder Protection (CBP), and Mr. Hilton Beckham, Acting Commissioner of CBP, on Friday, October 24th.
The visit focused on the signing of a new pre-clearance agreement with the US. This is an important agreement for Aruba, allowing travelers to be screened in Aruba and, upon arrival in the US, to proceed directly to their connecting flight or destination. In addition to the importance of the agreement, the cooperation between the two countries and geopolitical developments in the region were also discussed.
The CBP delegation was accompanied to the audience at the Cas Ceremonial by the United States Consul General in Willemstad, Mr. Ramon Negron. The director of Aruba's Directorate of Foreign Relations, Ms. Jocelyne Croes, also attended the audience.
