Government Closely Monitoring Regional Security Situation
ORANJESTAD – The Government has once again convened a meeting with all relevant national security authorities to receive an update on the current situation in the region.
Prime Minister Mike Eman continues to keep the community informed about all developments related to this matter.
On August 26, a key security briefing was held with Commander Walter Hansen, Commandant of the Navy in the Caribbean, together with Prime Minister Mike Eman and the Council of Ministers. Secretary General of the Ministry of General Affairs Robert Candelaria, Secretary of the Council of Ministers Indra Duarte, Special Representative of the Department of Foreign Relations (DBB), Annemarie Verrijp, Director of the Department of Foreign Relations (DBB) Jocelyne Croes, and Director of Aruba’s Security Service (VDA) Juri Nicolaas attended the briefing.
The briefing focused on the situation between the United States and Venezuela.
The meeting provided a clear and comprehensive overview of the regional security landscape and its potential implications for the islands of Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire.
