FUNARI Puts Inclusion and Mobility at the Heart of the Common Good

ORANJESTAD – In the lead-up to the Common Good Expo and Conference on January 29 and 30, various foundations in Aruba are sharing how they put the common good into practice on a daily basis.

One of these organizations is the FUNARI Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to the well-being of people with physical disabilities.

According to Brenda Rasmijn Maduro of the FUNARI Foundation, mobility and access to social life are among the greatest challenges faced by individuals with physical disabilities. FUNARI addresses these challenges through specialized transportation services and a comprehensive activity program that enables clients to leave their homes, participate actively in society, and continue enjoying life.

“We use specialized transportation to give our clients the opportunity to go wherever they need to go and to actively participate in social and everyday life,” said Rasmijn Maduro.

For FUNARI, inclusion goes beyond physical care. It also encompasses social participation, human connection, and quality of life. The foundation offers a wide range of activities designed to promote independence, emotional well-being, and a sense of belonging.

The Common Good Conference and Expo is viewed as an important opportunity to showcase the work of foundations in Aruba and to strengthen collaboration among organizations. According to FUNARI, by coming together, foundations can share challenges and solutions and grow stronger as a united community.

“Together we are stronger. Unity is strength,” the representative stated.

The FUNARI Foundation invites the community to attend the Common Good Expo on January 29 and 30 at the Renaissance Wind Creek Convention Center, where all participating foundations will share their missions and demonstrate how Aruba can continue to grow together in inclusion, dignity, and solidarity.
