First "Baki den Bario" for 2026 announced for Saturday, March 7.

ORANJESTAD – The government has announced the first "Baki den Bario" event for 2026.

It will take place on Saturday, March 7, in the Tanki Leendert neighborhood.

The event will take place on a site directly behind Scol Colegio Ora Ubao.

The initiative, which received a positive response in 2025, is a joint effort by Serlimar, City Inspector, DOW, the company Carenza, and other stakeholders. The goal is to offer communities a practical, accessible, and organized way to dispose of waste and bulky waste.

During the announcement, Prime Minister Mike Eman emphasized that "Baki den Bario" is not just a cleanup operation but also a concrete tool to bring public services closer to citizens. Towards a permanent Baki

In addition to the regular neighborhood edition, the government has confirmed plans to soon open a permanent pilot location, accessible 24/7. This location will offer the option of dropping off various types of waste, both household and commercial, free of charge.

The plan is to open the first permanent location in late March or early April. With this, the government aims to reduce the need to transport waste to remote areas and establish a more structured waste management solution.

According to the organizations involved, the initiative is based on intensive collaboration. "We see how Aruba can work together to keep our island clean. The support of various public and private entities is essential to achieving this goal."

"Baki den Bario" will visit various large neighborhoods across the island throughout 2026, giving every segment of the community the opportunity to actively contribute to a cleaner and more orderly Aruba.
