FIND YOUR RESPONSIBLE FRIEND: National Campaign Against Drunk Driving

ORANJESTAD — The Aruba Police Force is once again drawing attention to the critical issue of driving under the influence of alcohol and its dangerous consequences.

The national anti-drunk driving campaign is kicking off anew to emphasize this vital message: "FIND YOUR RESPONSIBLE FRIEND."

In short, find your #BAR — Bo Amigo Responsabel. This means having a designated driver who has not consumed alcohol or other substances—a responsible friend who can safely operate a motor vehicle so that everyone reaches their destination safely.

The Aruba Police Force reiterates that sobriety checkpoints and controls will continue. Driving under the influence carries severe risks: you may never make it home, you could prevent an innocent person from getting home, or you could leave someone in a life-threatening condition.

Preventing drunk driving remains the serious responsibility of every citizen. As the end of the year approaches, police controls will become even stricter than they already are. Therefore, the Police Force urges our community to act responsibly and prioritize safety on our roads.
