Fiesta di Cunucu 2026 Once Again Celebrates Our Seniors
ORANJESTAD – On Sunday, June 28, 2026, Fiesta di Cunucu will take place at Santa Rosa.
The celebration is a joint initiative between two departments: Directie Ouderenzorg which falls under the Department of Agriculture, Breeding and Fisheries (Santa Rosa) and the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector. The purpose of the event is to honor our senior citizens and promote the richness of Aruba’s primary sector.
Fiesta di Cunucu (Countryside Festival) is a day filled with local cuisine, fresh local produce, an authentic cunucu (traditional Aruban countryside/farming area) atmosphere, and activities that encourage enjoyment, physical activity, and intergenerational interaction. The event combines the mission of the primary sector to strengthen local production with the mission of Elderly Care to promote the well-being, active participation, and sense of community among our seniors.
The ministries are joining forces to create a day dedicated to bringing together the community and celebrating Aruba’s agricultural heritage.
“Fiesta di Cunucu is an example of what can be achieved when two ministries work together toward a shared vision. We are celebrating our seniors, our food, and our traditions—and we are doing so in the most fitting place possible: our cunucu,” said Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector, Mr. Geoffrey Wever.
