Exhibition Radiate. Rise. Renew.
ORANJESTAD—The National Library of Aruba is hosting the exhibition of visual artist Sharina Gumbs in October.
Everyone is welcome. The opening of the exhibition is this Wednesday from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The exhibition is open to the public during the library's regular hours. This is Sharina Gumbs' second exhibition at the library in Oranjestad.
The title of the exhibition is 'Radiate.' Rise. Renew.
Radiate. Rise. Renew. Traces the journey of transformational abstract artist Sharina Gumbs, bringing together early experiments, darker reflections, and new works of closure and tribute. Since her initial steps into abstraction in 2008, her art has deepened to include explorations of healing, reflecting life's transformations through enhanced color, movement, and linework.
At the heart of the exhibition is a tribute to her mother, her most significant influence and source of love. Since her recent passing, Sharina honors her mother’s spiritual presence through art, presenting a portrait of her parents and three of her mother’s own sculptures, celebrating a legacy of love that continues to guide.
