Design Academy Aruba’s 2026 Year-End Exhibition Opening Celebrates Local Creativity and Talent
ORANJESTAD – On July 1, 2026, Design Academy Aruba hosted the opening night of its 2026 Year-End Exhibition at the National Archaeological Museum of Aruba.
This annual exhibition celebrates the creativity, dedication, and achievements of over 100 students who participated in Design Academy Aruba’s educational programs during the past academic year. The festive evening brought together students, parents, faculty, families, and guests to celebrate innovation and local craftsmanship.
The exhibition featured works by students from the MBO Art & Design program, the ceramic group Clay Roots Future Makers, participants from Scol Dun'un Man, and students from various courses and workshops organized by Design Academy Aruba.
Remarks by Prime Minister Eman
Prime Minister Eman was also in attendance for the festive opening. During his speech, he expressed his appreciation for Design Academy Aruba’s efforts in developing creative talent on the island. He also shared a special memory of collaborating with the institute during the preparations for National Anthem and Flag Day:
"A few weeks ago, Design Academy Aruba contributed to a very special project. Leading up to March 18, they took on the challenge of restoring the monument dedicated to the 2,147 pioneers who signed for Aruba’s autonomy, bringing back its original splendor."
The Prime Minister invited the audience to applaud the faculty and students for their contribution to this historic project, noting that the initiative showcased not only artistic talent but also a deep commitment to national heritage.
"This work demonstrated the immense dedication that the teachers and students pour into the academy. Tonight, I am very eager to see the results of the investment the students have made into their own artwork."
Eman congratulated all the participants and expressed his hope that the evening would be a celebration of talent, creativity, and personal growth: "I wish all the students and faculty much success, and let us enjoy the young talent that Aruba has to offer."
A Platform for the Future
With this exhibition, Design Academy Aruba highlights the importance of investing in creative education and developing local talent. The event provided young creators with a valuable platform to share their work with the community and showcase Aruba’s creative potential.
