DBB urges citizens to avoid travel to the Middle East

ORANJESTAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, through the Department of Foreign Relations of Aruba (DBB), is issuing an urgent warning to all citizens to avoid travel to the Middle East.

This warning is due to the high security risks currently prevailing in the region.

Risks and current situation

The situation in the Middle East remains extremely tense and unpredictable. There is a real risk of airspace closures and flight cancellations without prior notice. In addition, foreigners, including citizens of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, are at high risk of arbitrary detention.

Please be aware that the capacity of the Dutch embassy to provide consular assistance in crisis situations may be very limited or even non-existent. This warning applies in particular to travel to Iran, Israel, Iraq, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, and the islands of Abu Musa and Tunb. Emergency Instruction: Crisis Contact Form (deadline March 6)
