Customs Introduces IATA Cargo-XML Integration in ASYCUDAWorld

ORANJESTAD – The Aruba Customs recently organized a seminar/workshop in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to discuss the integration of a new module into the ASYCUDAWorld platform: IATA Cargo-XML.

The Aruba Customs has started with the implementation of IATA Cargo-XML within the ASYCUDAWorld platform as part of its ongoing program to modernize air cargo management and strengthen border control.

This new functionality enables airlines, courier services, and other authorized stakeholders within the air cargo supply chain to electronically submit cargo manifests in accordance with IATA Cargo-XML international standards. This enhancement increases the efficiency, transparency, and reliability of Aruba’s air cargo processes by providing Customs authorities with advance access to cargo information before shipments arrive.

The initiative will contribute to faster cargo clearance, enhanced risk management, and the further strengthening of national border security.

In addition, the implementation promotes greater accuracy, consistency, and integrity in data submissions by reducing manual processing and standardizing the electronic exchange of information between cargo carriers and Customs. Through the ASYCUDAWorld platform, participating airlines and cargo operators will benefit from a modernized manifest submission process that is fully aligned with the global industry standard established and promoted by IATA.

The introduction of the IATA Cargo-XML framework further underscores Customs’ commitment to digital transformation, trade facilitation, and the adoption of international best practices in customs administration and border management.

The Aruba Customs will continue to work closely with stakeholders and international partners to ensure the successful implementation, operational integration, and future expansion of this initiative.
