Continuation of structural action plan for sports facility maintenance in Aruba
ORANJESTAD – The Ministry of Sports, in collaboration with the Department of Public Works (DOW), continues to take concrete steps to further implement the sports facility maintenance program in Aruba.
During the first phase of this program, the technical teams of DOW and the Ministry worked closely on the maintenance of several sports fields, including the Savaneta Ballpark in Savaneta and the Veld di Juventud Tanki Leendert (baseball field) in Noord, where work took place last weekend.
The action plan is part of a sustainable strategy that must ensure that every sports facility receives the care it needs to continue to optimally serve the community and athletes.
“Maintenance is essential for sustainability. We believe in sports as a tool for social development, and to achieve this, the infrastructure must be in optimal condition,” emphasized Minister of Sports Gerlien Croes. The ongoing collaboration between DOW and the Ministry focuses on establishing a system for preventive and periodic maintenance, with the aim of promoting transparency and efficient use of government funds.
Minister Croes expressed her appreciation for DOW and all its employees who contribute to this program with dedication and professionalism. She confirmed that the Ministry plans to expand the maintenance program to more sports facilities on the island in the next phase.
