Collective effort is essential for nature conservation.
ORANJESTAD – On October 8, 2024, the Aruba Conservation Foundation organized the Terrestrial Management Plan Workshop, where Mr. Lawrence Jones-Walters from Natural Dialogue and Mr. Bernie Fleming from Fleming Ecology were the keynote speakers.
Minister of Transport, Nature, Integrity, and Elderly Affairs Ursell Arends opened the workshop with a speech emphasizing the management of shared natural areas.
Understanding our ecosystem and striking a balance between preserving the natural world and our current way of life requires knowledge of the management plan covered during the terrestrial workshop.
Over the next ten years, we must correct and restore the damage we have all caused. We cannot overcome, rectify, and restore our ecology unless we plan and operate as a team. The contributions and efforts during the workshop are fundamental to official strategy development and will ensure responsible management of areas, giving Aruba's nature a chance to flourish.
