Club Kibrahacha 60+ Promotes Active Living and Well-Being Among Seniors
ORANJESTAD – During this week’s Common Good Conference and Expo, several foundations in Aruba are sharing how they contribute to the common good.
One of these organizations is Club Kibrahacha 60+, a foundation dedicated to the social, mental, and physical well-being of seniors.
According to Director Janely Nicolas, Club Kibrahacha 60+ operates a day center for seniors, where participants can engage in a variety of activities that encourage social interaction, physical movement, and meaningful conversation. The primary goal is to prevent loneliness as well as mental and physical decline by keeping seniors active and socially connected.
“We create a space where seniors can get out of the house, meet one another, and remain mentally and physically active,” the director stated.
With Aruba’s population aging rapidly, the foundation emphasizes that the role of organizations working with seniors is becoming increasingly important. Regular social engagement, according to the foundation, is essential to preventing isolation and maintaining independence and quality of life.
Club Kibrahacha 60+ views the Common Good Expo as an important opportunity to showcase its work and strengthen collaboration with other foundations, government agencies, and the private sector. The organization aims to expand its network and support businesses interested in contributing to the well-being of seniors in Aruba.
“We hope that more foundations and companies will join us in strengthening support for seniors,” Nicolas added.
The foundation invites the community, fellow foundations, and businesses to participate in the Common Good Expo on January 29, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Renaissance Wind Creek Convention Center. The event offers an opportunity to learn more about the initiative, build connections, and contribute to an Aruba where dignity and well-being for seniors are central.
