Closer collaboration between Government and Aruba Hospitality Security Foundation (AHSF)
ORANJESTAD — Minister of Justice Arthur Dowers and Minister of Tourism Wendrick Cicilia recently met with the Aruba Hospitality Security Foundation (AHSF) to discuss closer collaboration, with the main goal of continuing to strengthen security across Aruba.
During the meeting, various possibilities were discussed to establish an integral partnership between the two ministries and the AHSF. The intention is to combine the experience, information, and capacity of different actors involved in security to address existing challenges in a coordinated and effective manner.
While the broader collaboration encompasses security island-wide, this initial discussion focused specifically on the hotel and tourism zone, recognizing the vital importance of this sector and the large number of visitors and workers moving through the area daily.
The approach is comprehensive, placing prevention, information exchange, and cooperation between the government, the tourism sector, and security partners at the core. The objective is not only to strengthen the response to incidents, but proactively to work preventively and identify potential risks in a timely manner.
Cooperation between the government, the private sector, and organizations active on the ground is essential to achieving sustainable results. Partnering with the AHSF is part of ongoing efforts to maintain a safe environment for both the local community and visitors to Aruba.
The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Tourism will continue working closely with the AHSF to finalize the discussed points and establish structural, lasting cooperation with a shared vision: contributing to a safer Aruba for all.
