A.T.A. Shares August 2026 Results
ORANJESTAD — The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) is continuously monitoring the evolving trends and profiles of visitors who choose Aruba as their destination.
One of the key profiles analyzed is the distribution of different generations visiting the island, as each generation has its own preferences and way of traveling. Year-to-Date (YTD) data through August 2026 shows that Gen X (born between 1965 and 1980) represents the largest segment of visitors, capturing 26.4% of the market. This is followed by Millennials (1981–1996) at 24.3%, Baby Boomers (1946–1964) at 23.0%, and Gen Z (1997–2012) at 17.4%. This insight helps the A.T.A. better understand its audience, allowing the tourism industry to adapt strategies, products, and experiences to meet the unique needs of multi-generational travelers.
STATISTICS UPDATE: STAYOVER TOURISM, LENGTH OF STAY, AND MARKET SHARE
In August 2026, Aruba welcomed a total of 145,750 stayover visitors, generating 967,001 visitor nights with an average length of stay (ALOS) of 6.6 nights.
Market distribution for August indicated that North America remained the primary source market, accounting for 69.6% of all arrivals. South America contributed 22.3%, Europe 5.8%, and other regions accounted for 2.3%. The United States stood as the largest single market for the month with 96,790 visitors, while Argentina led South American arrivals with 14,901 visitors. The Netherlands led the European market with 2,720 visitors.
SHORT-TERM VACATION RENTALS (STVR)
The A.T.A. continues to monitor the Short-Term Vacation Rental (STVR) sector via the Lighthouse platform. By August 2026, the sector recorded an average occupancy rate of 57%, while the Average Daily Rate (ADR) for the month reached USD 359. Furthermore, the sector generated approximately USD 36.8 million in total revenue during August 2026.
