A.T.A. Releases May 2026 Results
ORANJESTAD – The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.), through its Strategy, Planning and Research Department, presented the findings of its Spending Insights 2025 report in May, based on the A.T.A. Airport Exit Survey, which resumed in 2024 following a pause during the pandemic.
This monthly airport survey collects detailed information on visitor spending and behavior, including visitor satisfaction, likelihood of returning, visitor type, travel party composition, length of stay, accommodations, and income levels.
The 2025 survey results confirm that visitor spending remains a key indicator of tourism’s economic impact. Total visitor expenditures reached USD 3.06 billion, with an average daily expenditure of USD 297. The average expenditure for a vacation package, including airfare, was USD 4,624, while the average spending per travel party amounted to USD 4,989. Average spending per person per stay totaled USD 2,019.
The largest share of visitor spending was allocated to accommodations (38%), followed by food and beverages consumed outside accommodations (13%) and food and beverages consumed within accommodations (12%). The North American market accounted for USD 2.37 billion (78%) of total visitor expenditures, followed by Latin America with USD 460 million (15%) and Europe with USD 144 million (5%).
These findings are based on more than 8,000 completed surveys and reflect a visitor mix of 64% first-time visitors and 36% repeat visitors. The data provide A.T.A. with a solid foundation for making strategic decisions focused on quality, value, and sustainability in Aruba’s tourism development.

Within North America, the United States and Canada continued to be the primary contributors to visitor arrivals. In South America, Argentina once again recorded strong growth. Within Europe, the Netherlands remained Aruba’s leading source market.
