A.T.A. and ACF Collaborate for Netherlands Premiere of “Turning the Tide”

ORANJESTAD — The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) and the Aruba Conservation Foundation (ACF) joined forces for the Netherlands premiere of the documentary “Turning the Tide” on October 28 at Filmhuis The Hague.

Following its local premiere in Aruba earlier this year, the documentary was presented in the Netherlands to an international audience.

The event gathered 55 participants, including A.T.A. CEO Ronella Croes and CMO Sanju Luidens, along with members of A.T.A.’s European market team. Representing ACF were Natasha Silva and Edeline Berg, Communications & Marketing Manager of ACF. Rene Henkens, a scientist from Wageningen University, was also in attendance for this special occasion.

“Turning the Tide” is a collaborative production by ACF, ScubbleBubbles Foundation, the University of Aruba, and Wageningen University & Research. The documentary showcases the efforts of local, regional, and international experts working to rehabilitate Aruba’s marine ecosystems. It stands as a testament to hope, unity, and resilience in the face of ecological challenges, highlighting the vital role of mangrove and coral reef conservation, as well as active community participation.

“The documentary is special because it was created in Aruba, for Aruba, born from local pride and strengthened by international collaboration. Every step to protect nature, no matter how small, counts for the future of our island,” said Ronella Croes during her speech in The Hague.

A.T.A. and ACF have long collaborated on environmental initiatives, including mangrove restoration, dune conservation, and infrastructure improvements within Arikok National Park. More than a partnership, their relationship is built on mutual trust and a shared commitment to sustainability.

“Together we are working toward a future that restores our natural environment and brings people closer, a future built on integrity, strengthened by innovation, and supported by inclusion,” added Croes, speaking on the collaboration between A.T.A. and ACF.

Looking ahead, A.T.A. will renew its strategic agreement with ACF for another three years, reaffirming their joint commitment to sustainable development and innovative conservation initiatives.
