Asphalting project on the roads in Colony launched

ORANJESTAD – On October 5, 2026, the milling and asphalting project for the roads in Colony was officially launched during a press conference.

In the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure, René "Baba" Herdé, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, Wendrick Cicilia, and Ronella Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority, all information regarding the project was shared.

Starting October 5, 2026, a new layer of asphalt will be applied over a 3.9 km (2.4-mile) stretch of road for 10 weeks, divided into 3 phases.

The first phase runs from October 5 through November 3 and includes preparation, milling, asphalting, and road marking. This work begins at the start of St. Christoffelbergweg near the Blue Anchor monument. Access to Colony, Baby Beach, and Rodgers Beach will be routed via Fortheuvelstraat to Seroe Colorado, through the Aruba Refinery property.

Alternative routes will be clearly indicated with signs and barricades. We kindly ask motorists and visitors for their patience and cooperation during the execution of this extensive project.
