ORANJESTAD — During the first half of 2026 (January to June), 304,308 Visa cardholders from 136 countries spent a total of USD 184.9 million in Aruba.

Data shows that international visitors continue to contribute significantly to the local economy across various service and retail sectors. This study analyzes electronic transactions made in Aruba using foreign-issued Visa cards on the Visa network.

Restaurants and food establishments accounted for the largest share of expenditures at USD 56.7 million, followed by the accommodation sector at USD 44 million and retail at USD 39.3 million. Visitors also contributed to supermarkets, transportation, and entertainment.
