Aruba Strengthens Regional Connectivity with New Bucaramanga Route with Wingo
ORANJESTAD – Aruba continues to strengthen its regional air connectivity with the announcement of a new seasonal route by Wingo, directly linking Aruba with the Colombian city of Bucaramanga via Palonegro International Airport.
The route was officially announced on January 22 and will operate from June through August 2026, with two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This new connection expands travel options for Arubans and facilitates the arrival of visitors from Colombia.
In addition to boosting tourism, the opening of this route presents an important opportunity for Arubans interested in traveling to Bucaramanga, a city well known in the region for its medical tourism, specialized healthcare services, and competitive pricing, as well as for its strong overland connections to other destinations in Colombia.
“This new route to Bucaramanga reinforces our vision for air connectivity that not only stimulates tourism, but also responds to the real needs of our community. Facilitating access to specialized services, healthcare, and new travel opportunities contributes to building a more connected, resilient, and future-ready Aruba,” said Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, Wendrick Cicilia.
“Strategic partnerships with airlines such as Wingo are essential for the development of tourism in Aruba and for strengthening air connectivity, which also delivers direct benefits to our residents. At the same time, we continue to stimulate other key markets in the region and strengthen Bogotá as a connecting hub.”
The addition of this new route to Bucaramanga reflects the commitment of Queen Beatrix International Airport to further enhance Aruba’s air connectivity. “Each new flight increases mobility options for our residents and visitors and contributes to positioning the island as a strategic connectivity hub in the region,” said Arco-Anne, Executive Aviation Business Development at the Aruba Airport Authority (AAA).
In this way, Aruba reaffirms its commitment to connectivity that supports diverse travel needs—including tourism, healthcare, business travel, and cultural experiences—while contributing to the economic dynamism of both the island and the region.
