Aruba stands out as the safest island in the Caribbean.
ORANJESTAD—Recently, the website Always All Inclusive published that Aruba has been recognized as the safest island in the Caribbean.
The Ministry of Tourism proudly celebrates Aruba's latest achievement as the safest destination in the Caribbean, according to the latest publication in the "Caribbean Island Safety Index 2025."
Compiled by Always All Inclusive, a team of Sandals Resort travel safety experts, the index assessed key safety factors, including U.S. travel advisories, crime rates, hurricane risk, and health care preparedness. Aruba obtained the number 1 position, leading the region in overall safety with an almost perfect score.
Aruba is safe.
“This recognition is not only a testament to Aruba's stability and resilience but also to the collective efforts of our community, public safety officers, and tourism partners who work tirelessly to ensure that every visitor feels welcome and protected,” said Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor, Mr. Wendrick Cicilia.
Aruba obtained:
- Travel warning level 1 from the U.S. Department of State (safest rating)
- Rated 10/10 for hurricane safety due to its location outside the hurricane belt.
- 9/10 for low crime rates
- 8/10 for high-quality medical care, aligned with Dutch medical standards
Known as "One Happy Island," Aruba is enhancing its reputation as a trustworthy and secure destination, providing visitors with much more than just stunning beaches. From the protected areas of Arikok National Park to cultural experiences like Carnival and attractions such as the Butterfly Farm, Aruba continues to be an excellent option for travelers seeking tranquility.

Minister Cicilia reaffirmed the government's commitment to maintain Aruba's leadership in tourism safety: “We will continue to invest in infrastructure, health systems, and community-based initiatives to ensure that Aruba remains a model of safety, hospitality, and responsible tourism for years to come.”
Last year was a record year.
Last year, Aruba welcomed 1.42 million stayover guests, representing an increase of 13% compared to 2023 and an outstanding level of guest satisfaction with an average of 9 points out of 10 available to judge. This achievement resulted in an income of Afl. 5.4 billion, marking the highest income figure in our country's history.
