Aruba Police Force Now Has Two New Commissioners
ORANJESTAD – On February 3, 2026, the Aruba Police Force (KPA) held a special ceremony where the Minister of Justice, Mr. Arthur Dowers, sworn in two members of the police force as police commissioners.
These are Silvio de Mey and Adrick Croes, two professionals with impressive careers and many years of experience within the police force.
In his speech, Chief Commissioner Ramon Arnhem reflected on the professional careers of both new commissioners and expressed his gratitude to their families for their understanding, support, and continued support throughout their police careers.
Silvio de Mey joined the police force at the age of 18 and began his career with the Netherlands Antilles Police Force as a trainee officer. On January 1, 1986, he was given the opportunity to serve on one of the other islands of the Antilles, but he consciously chose to remain in Aruba. He began his work at the Outer District Surveillance Service Section and subsequently served in various departments within the KPA, including the Surveillance Service Section, the Youth and Vice Squad, and the Internal Affairs and Investigations Bureau. As a Sub-Inspector First Class and with a Master of Laws degree, De Mey continued his training at the Netherlands Police Academy, graduating in 2012 with the title Executive Master Tactical Policing (EMTP). Since then, he has held various positions, including Inspector, Inspector First Class, Chief Inspector, and most recently, Acting Police Commissioner.
Adrick Croes is also a well-known figure within the KPA. He began his training at the Netherlands Police Academy in 2000 and joined the KPA in 2004 as an Inspector. Within just two years, he was promoted to Inspector First Class. Since 2008, Croes has held the position of Chief Inspector of Police and has held various key positions, including Head of Information & Expertise, Head of Special Services, portfolio holder of the Arrest Team, Head of Border Control, and district commander of Santa Cruz and San Nicolas.
With the swearing-in of Silvio de Mey and Adrick Croes as commissioners, the Aruba Police Force strengthens its leadership and continues to invest in experience, knowledge, and commitment to the safety and well-being of the Aruban community.
Minister of Justice Arthur Dowers congratulated the police force on this achievement by two exemplary members, who now hold the position of police commissioner. The Minister of Justice also thanked everyone present for their dedication and efforts to uphold the integrity of the police force.
